Whether the summer is just around the corner, or it’s the middle of winter, it’s never too early to think about summer camp! An experience at Jewish summer camp can bring together fun activities, building friendships, and living in a supportive community, all through a Jewish lens. We are lucky to have Camp Daisy and Harry Stein in our local community since 1975.
Personal Growth and Leadership
One of the most important aspects of attending Jewish summer camp is the opportunity to grow as an individual. Camp provides a supportive environment for our campers to take on leadership roles, develop new skills, and learn to navigate challenges in a safe space. Campers return home with greater confidence, independence, and a stronger sense of responsibility. At Camp Stein, campers have opportunities to try a variety of activities from Basketball to the Zipline, Horseback riding to Photography, Theater to Archery, and so much more. They try new activities and continue building skills in the ones they already love.
Building a Strong Jewish Identity
Attending a Jewish camp provides a unique opportunity for our children to immerse themselves in Jewish life, away from the distractions of everyday life. Through activities like t’fillah (services) and limmud (study sessions), campers are able to connect to their Jewish identity in meaningful and fun ways. The environment at camp nurtures a deeper understanding of Jewish values and traditions, offering our campers an opportunity to connect with their peers and feel proud of their heritage.
Strengthening Community Connections & Friendships
Jewish summer camps foster a strong sense of community, where campers build lasting friendships with others who share their Jewish values. These connections not only enrich their experience at camp, but carry over into their life outside the ‘bubble’ of summer camp. The community and friendships they build at camp continue with them throughout the year, maintaining their connection to the broader Jewish community. Their friendships carry with them through school, bar and bat mitzvah years, college, and more. Camp friends are truly (Jewish) friends for life.
Jewish camp is a fantastic way for your child(ren) to continue their Jewish journey in a dynamic, fun, and meaningful way. Not only will they make memories that will last a lifetime, but they will also bring home invaluable experiences.
