Overview
Camp Daisy and Harry Stein, owned and operated by Congregation Beth Israel in Scottsdale, is a unique and exciting place. A Jewish overnight summer camp nestled in the majestic Bradshaw Forest of Prescott, Arizona, it is a place where campers discover more about themselves, their abilities, & their Judaism. A summer of fun, a lifetime of memories!
We are seeking and enthusiastic individual to oversee and run our Outdoor Adventure program. This includes our Zipline, Rock Wall and Low Ropes Course also referred to at camp as “Rocks and Ropes”. This includes planning and implementation of all rocks and ropes activities for all age groups during cabin hours, and elective periods.

Position Responsibilities
- Planning and implementation of the Rocks and Ropes program for all age groups during cabin activities and elective periods
- Attend Rocks/Ropes Course training program. This will take place during staff week and is specific to the Camp Stein elements
- Orientation and education of Staff and Campers to Rocks and Ropes area equipment, procedures, rules and availability
- Communication with Health Center regarding campers with special physical needs or problems, with regards to your area and observance of those needs
- Preparation and maintenance of Rocks and Ropes areas – Physically and programmatically. Make sure that the elements and supply storage areas are kept clean and organized and that all supplies are accounted for.
- Maintain record of camper’s progress
- Maintain records and equipment logs of rocks and ropes areas and supplies
- Allow the campers the opportunity to develop new skills and talents
- The requisitioning of needed supplies and equipment, as well as maintenance and inventory of all equipment and supplies
- When done implementing rocks and ropes programming and maintaining area, should be with assigned cabin
- Evaluate in writing, the Ceramics Program, Camp Program, Staff, and Procedures
- Abide by and enforce all camp policies
- Walk shmira (OD), supervise cabins at night as assigned
Position Requirements
- Entering College Freshman or 18 years of age
- Experience significant for camping
- Previous experience in specialty area, comparable to conditions present at Camp Stein.
- The ability to live in a cabin, oversee campers and work with co-counselors.
- The ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to have open communication with director supervisors about issues that may arise with campers and/or rocks and ropes program
