We strive to create a community from which young people derive a greater sense of self-esteem & an enhanced pride in their Jewish identity. Spending time with friends, cabin-mates and counselors & learning about our rich heritage give our campers an experience they will never forget.

Even more than a community, Camp Stein is a family.

Inspiring Jewish Exploration

At Camp Daisy and Harry Stein, campers are immersed in a Jewish environment with peers. Here, seeds are planted and roots strengthened for lifelong Jewish learning. The moment their camp experiences begin, campers and staff know that they are forever a part of something bigger.

Under the direction of Congregation Beth Israel’s Rabbi Sara Mason-Barkin, and with input from clergy throughout the region, we work year-round to develop cutting-edge curricula, focused on active participation. We aim to provide everyone at Camp Stein with memorable moments and a true sense of connection to Judaism. Through our Judaic programming, the four walls of the classroom disappear and are replaced with creative, hands-on learning that is always fun! Every Shabbat, our majestic outdoor chapel provides the ideal backdrop for spiritual exploration unique to the Camp Stein experience.

Connect, learn, grow…be a part of something bigger.

Limud - Education

Jewish education is woven into daily life through engaging, experiential activities. Campers explore Jewish values, traditions, and holidays through interactive educational programs three times a week. These programs may include creative arts, music, storytelling, tikkun olam (social action) projects, and more! Discussions about Jewish identity help campers connect spiritually and culturally. The goal is to inspire a lifelong love of Judaism in a joyful, community-centered environment.

T'fillah - Services

At Camp Stein, daily evening services provide a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection each day. Campers and staff gather outdoors in our teatron (amphitheater) to sing, pray, and learn together. Services are often camper-led, encouraging creativity and personal expression through music and storytelling. These moments foster a sense of community and spirituality that deepen throughout the summer.

Shabbat at Camp

Shabbat at Camp Daisy & Harry Stein is a joyful and meaningful time when the entire camp community comes together to celebrate. Campers and staff dress in nicer clothes for our music-filled Shabbat evening services. Our Shabbat dinner follows, where we enjoy our traditional Shabbat dinner complete with strawberry salad and matzah ball soup. After dinner, everyone joins in a Shabbat song session and Israeli dancing. These traditions create a sense of connection, reflection, and joy that make Shabbat one of the most special times of the week at Camp Stein.
