Overview
Camp Daisy and Harry Stein, owned and operated by Congregation Beth Israel in Scottsdale, is a unique and exciting place. A Jewish overnight summer camp nestled in the majestic Bradshaw Forest of Prescott, Arizona, it is a place where campers discover more about themselves, their abilities, & their Judaism. A summer of fun, a lifetime of memories!
We are seeking and enthusiastic individual to oversee safety and swimming activities at our pool. This includes planning and implementation of all swim activities for all age groups during cabin hours, and elective periods.

Position Responsibilities
- Planning and implementation of the Swimming program for all age groups during cabin activities and elective Develop a recreational swimming program that stresses safety and fun for campers and staff.
- Orientation and education of Staff and Campers to Swimming/Pool area equipment, procedures, rules and availability
- Orientation of all individuals at the pool on area rules including: swimming, diving, out of pool area, free swim, games, use of equipment, waterslide, warning signals, and other procedures
- Communication with Health Center regarding campers with special physical needs or problems, with regards to your area and observance of those needs
- Preparation and maintenance of Pool areas – Physically and programmitically
- Assist in cleaning the pool daily
- Maintain record of camper’s progress
- Allow the campers the opportunity to develop new skills and talents
- The requisitioning of needed supplies and equipment, as well as maintenance and inventory of all equipment and suppplies
- When done implementing pool programming and maintaining area, should be with assigned cabin
- Evaluate in writing, the Swimming Program, Camp Program, Staff, and Procedures.
- Abide by and enforce all camp policies
- Walk shmira (OD), supervise cabins at night as assigned
Position Requirements
- Entering College Freshman or 18 years of age
- Experience significant for camping
- Previous experience in water safety and swimming instruction, comparable to conditions present at Camp Stein
- Must possess Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent
- The ability to live in a cabin, oversee campers and work with co-counselors.
- The ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to have open communication with director supervisors about issues that may arise with campers and/or music program.
