Hey everyone! This is your 2016 Kadimah Unit Head speaking to you via the inter webs in the beautiful Prescott, AZ! Last week I, as well as 47 other staff members and campers, went on our overnight to a campsite in Camp Verde! Who would have thought that a group that large could help become such a tight nit family unit in a little over a week? The idea is mind boggling! After a delicious meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, and vegetables we went on an easy hike on a mountain attached to our campsite and watched the sunset! It was incredible! Later on that night we made a campfire, roasted marshmallows, and played some fun games. We finished the night with the Hashkivenuh, a Camp Stein nightly ritual and personal favorite of mine! We all slept under the stars and enjoyed staring up at the heavens, embracing nature and appreciating all that we had. The next morning, we got up early for a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs and pancakes. We headed up towards to Coconino National forest where we embarked on the Fay Canyon, a short but gorgeous hike into the mountains. It was a fun 24 hours! What a way to learn to appreciate all that G-d has provided for us! I cannot wait for overnight number two in just two short weeks!
