Rishonim “Survives” Their Overnight

Taking 21 2nd-4th graders on an overnight trip off of camp sound like a challenge?? Not for Camp Stein campers.  The Rishonim Unit took their show on the road, and camped out at a nearby campsite in the Prescott area, and lived to tell about it!

They packed their things in the late afternoon, and arrived at the campsite a little before dinner time.  After unloading the camp vans, they went on a nature scavenger hunt and hike.  They were instructed to find unique items of nature that aren’t normally seen at camp, and a good time was had by all.

After the hike, it was dinner time, which was delicious Pita Pizzas.  With full stomachs, they helped set up camp, pitching tents and laying down their sleeping bags.  Once camp was set up, they sat in a circle and had a rousing song session!  The evening concluded with desert, consisting of “Dirt Cups” which are gummy worms inside chocolate pudding with Oreo IMG_9603cookies on top. YUM!!!

Awaking to the sunrise the following morning after a sound night’s sleep under the stars, the campers were eager to pack their stuff and return to Camp Stein, showing everyone they survived their overnight! Way to go RISHONIM!!
